The phone
is the platform.
Workers get shift offers by push notification, accept in a single tap, check in and out, submit timesheets, and upload documents — all from a mobile-first progressive web app. No App Store install required.
What the worker can do
Receive shift offers
Push notifications with all the details — client, position, start/end, pay rate, location.
Accept or decline in one tap
No phone tag. No emails. Single tap response — the offer cascades to the next worker if declined.
View upcoming shifts
A clear calendar of accepted shifts, with client and site details a tap away.
Submit timesheets
At the end of the shift, confirm start/finish/breaks and submit for client approval.
Upload documents
Take a photo of a renewed DBS, licence, or training cert. Uploaded and attached automatically.
Set availability and preferences
Workers set which days they're available, preferred travel distance, and notification channels.
Why a PWA and not a native app?
A progressive web app installs from a link. No App Store review cycle, no "please update your app" prompts, no 100 MB downloads on a pay-as-you-go plan. Workers add Subshift to their home screen and use it like any other app.
Updates ship the moment we release them, and the experience is the same on iPhone, Android, and older handsets. That is important when your workforce is spread across every device generation.
Workers get the shift. In a tap.
