Compliance that
enforces itself.

Every worker carries a stack of documents — DBS, right-to-work, training, licences, cards. Subshift holds them all, flags what is expiring, and automatically excludes non-compliant workers from matching. No spreadsheet, no near-misses.

What compliance tracks

Worker documents

DBS certificates, right-to-work, passport/ID, training certificates, qualifications — all stored with expiry dates.

Sector-specific cards

CSCS, CPCS, NPORS, ECS, SIA, Driver CPC, QTS — every sector's cards supported with category endorsements.

Site inductions

Record which workers have completed which site inductions, so un-inducted workers are blocked from that site.

Client-specific requirements

Each client can define extra required documents for their placements — enforced automatically.

Expiry reminders

Documents that are about to expire are surfaced in the dashboard and in worker reminders, well before the lapse.

Audit history

Every change is logged. Every placement records the worker's compliance status at the point of booking.

How enforcement works

  1. 1

Rules live on the position or client

A position like "HGV Class 1" requires the Class 1 licence and Driver CPC. A client site might also require their own induction. Both rules are enforced on every shift.

  2. 2

    Workers are screened before matching

Before a shift is offered, Subshift checks each eligible worker against the required documents. Any lapsed or missing document excludes them.

  3. 3

Nothing is offered to non-compliant workers

If a worker's DBS expires tomorrow, they will not be offered shifts for next week. If a licence lapses mid-shift-week, future shifts stop automatically.

  4. 4

Every placement is recorded with proof

The compliance snapshot at the time of booking is kept. If an audit ever asks "was this worker compliant when placed?" — the answer is one click away.
