Getting started: Worker

This guide is your 5-minute setup checklist. Complete these steps and you'll be ready to receive and accept shift offers from your agency.

Step 1: Install the app on your phone

Subshift is a web app — install it from your browser, not the App Store. This takes about 30 seconds.

  • iPhone: open the link in Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen.
  • Android: open the link in Chrome → menu → Add to Home screen.

Step 2: Accept your invite and set a password

  1. Open the invite email from your agency.
  2. Tap Accept invitation.
  3. Create a password and log in.

Step 3: Complete your profile

Your agency needs your bank details to pay you. Add them before your first shift.

  1. Tap Profile in the bottom navigation.
  2. Add your bank account number and sort code.
  3. Add an emergency contact.
  4. Upload a profile photo if your agency requires one.

Step 4: Enable notifications

Shift offers expire after 15 minutes. Enable push notifications so you don't miss them.

  1. When the app prompts you, tap Allow notifications.
  2. If you missed the prompt, go to your phone's Settings and enable notifications for Subshift (or Safari/Chrome).

Tip

This is the most important setup step. Workers who don't have push notifications enabled miss shift offers regularly.

Step 5: Upload your compliance documents

Your agency needs to verify your documents before you start receiving shifts. Upload them now to speed things up.

  1. Tap Profile → Compliance.
  2. Upload each document listed as required (red badges).

  3. Tap Accept.
