Getting started: Client
This guide is your 5-minute onboarding path for the Subshift client portal. Follow these steps and you'll be set up and ready to request cover.
Step 1: Accept your invite
Your agency will send you an invitation email. Click Accept invitation in the email, set a password, and log in.
Step 2: Confirm your company profile
After logging in, check that your company details are correct — especially the billing address, as this appears on invoices your agency sends you.
- Click Profile in the sidebar.
- Review the company name, contact details, and billing address.
- Update anything that's wrong and click Save changes.
Step 3: Request your first shift
When you need cover at your site, submit a shift request. Your agency will handle matching and confirmation.
- Go to Shifts and click Request shift.
- Select the position, date, start time, duration, and number of workers.
- Add any site-specific notes for the worker (entrance, who to report to, dress code).
- Click Submit request.

Step 4: Approve your first timesheet
After the shift is completed, the worker submits a timesheet. If your account has client approval enabled, you'll need to review and approve it.
- Go to Timesheets in the sidebar.
- Open the pending timesheet.
- Check the hours and click Approve.
